Simon Kaylor

Simon Kaylor is an award winning saxophonist and recording artist based in the UK. He holds a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from Leeds College of Music as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Performing Arts Education from the Royal Northern College of Music. In 2005, he studied intensively in the USA with saxophone colossus, Jerry Bergonzi. Simon is an in-demand artist in a wide range of musical styles and as well as having a busy performance schedule, holds the post of Senior Lecturer at Leeds College of Music, teaching numerous modules including Saxophone Performance and Jazz Improvisation. Some of the artists that Simon has worked with include; Billy Paul, Dorothy Moore, Freda Payne, Ben E King, Kim Weston, Jean Knight, Percy Sledge, Jimmy Ruffin, Peabo Bryson, The Temptations Review, Candi Staton, Mo Pleasure (Ray Charles, Michael Jackson), Jeff Pevar (James Taylor, Ray Charles), Stanley Banks (George Benson, David Sanborn), Buddy Williams, Roy Wood (E.L.O, The Move, Wizard), Deneice Williams, The Stylistics, Mel C (Spicegirls), SClub, 5ive, Peter Kay, Bob Mintzer, Iain Ballamy, Thomas Stronen and Ken Vandermark.
