Percy Recavarren

“On my quest to get the desired sound, stability and projection demands on both live music and recording sessions, I’ve tried many trombone brands until finding my home on the RS Berkeley convertible trombone.”



Born in 1974 in Callao, Peru, Percy Recavarren demonstrated big interest in music listening collections of big band , jazz bands, Afro-Peruvian music and Latin music in general. At 16 years old he began his career as a trombonist in the San Antonio Marianists school band in his hometown, then continued his studies on his own, with the supervision of different teachers particularly, and began his professional career almost immediately, specializing in performances and recording sessions on Afro-Peruvian music and several rhythms, and getting to travel representing his country in Latin festivals and concerts to various countries such as Japan , Spain, United States, Argentina and Chile. At 30 years he relocated to the United States, continuing his studies in Trombone, as well as performing and recording for various reknown artists in the Latin American music, such as Lalo Rodriguez, Jerry Rivera, Johnny Rivera, Paquito Guzman and Andy Montanez, among many others.

Percy is currently recording his first production of Afro-Peruvian music as a soloist, featuring musicians from his native Peru as well as named artists from the United States, to include fellow RS Berkeley artist Albert Sanchez.
