Marcio Resende

Marcio Resende was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 23, 1961. He started his music career playing the flute at the age of seven. He studied music at Berklee College of Music (81-82), New England Conservatory of Music (82-87) and at New York University (87-91). During that time, Marcio studied with Joe Allard, Jimmy Giuffre, George Garzone and Joe Lovano. Marcio returned to Brazil in 1991 and began lecturing music at the State University of Ceara in Brazil. He has performed or recorded with Toninho Horta, Hermeto Paschoal, Nelson Angelo, Jorge Helder, Alex Carvalho, Fagner, Dave Douglas, Aydin Esen, Brian Bromberg, Kirk Covington, as well as other prominent artists in Brazil.
