Dan Kaneyuki
As a freelance Saxophonist and woodwind artist, Los Angeles native Dan Kaneyuki has been active on the LA scene for 15 years. Dan is currently one of the most in demand young saxophonists in Southern California. He toured the world with legendary recording artist Engelbert Humperdinck from 2012 until 2015. And from 2017-2018, he has toured the world with The Brian Setzer Orchestra. Dan’s improvisational talents have led him to play at jazz festivals all over the world including the Monterey jazz festival, Bali Live Insternational Jazz festival, and the Java Jazz festival in Jakarta, Indonesia. Dan can also be heard on several TV shows such as Bojack Horseman, Jane the Virgin, and Family Guy. Dan has also been on Television shows including The Ellen Show, Home & Family, Good Day LA and The Dante Night Show. He can also be seen in a recent Lincoln car commercial featuring Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. His live performance credits include Diane Schuur, David Foster, Nile Rodgers, Bobby Caldwell, Gregory Porter, Roy McCurdy, Jason Alexander, Stone Sour, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Gerald Wilson, Renee Olstead, Laura Fygi, Poncho Sanchez, Frank Stallone, Barbara Morrison, Haley Reinhart, Brian Setzer, Matthew Morrison, Melissa Morgan, The New York Voices, Peter Erskine, Steve Tyrell, Stevie Wonder, The 10,000 Maniacs, The Manhattan Transfer, Earl Klugh, Bastille, and many more. Dan's compositional talents have garnered him two “ASCAP Young Jazz Composer” awards in 2012 and 2013. Dan received his bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music located at California State University Long Beach. He has performed at many prestigious concert halls and venues around the world including the Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Walt Disney Concert Hall. He also appears regularly with many Southern California based bands including Melissa Morgan, The Elliot Deutsch Big Band, Pretzel Logic, Frank Stallone, The No Vaccancy Orchestra, The Tim Gill All-Stars, and Mike Barone Big Band. Dan is also a co-leader of The Sunset Horns. A new, versatile multi-instrumentalist horn section based in Los Angeles.
