With 5 CD's as a leader and over 100 as a sideman, Charles Pillow has established himself as one of the premier multi-instrumentalist of today. His "de-orchestrations" of Mussorgskys' "Pictures at an Exhibition" 2004, and Gustav Holsts' "The Planets" 2006 have earned critical acclaim. CDs are available on iTunes.

His arrangements and compositions meld ambient, jazz, classical and world music into a unique 'symphony of sound' approach

As a sideman he has appeared on over 100 recordings including those of Michael Brecker, John Scofield, James Moody, Paul Simon, Ron Carter, David Sanborn, Maria Schneider, Joe Henderson, Jay Z, Donald Fagen, Bob Belden, Kirk Whalum, Chaka Kahn, Gladys Knight and Tony Bennett.

He is on the faculty of the Eastman School of Music.
